Happy Earth Day 2023!
Earth Day is a time to reflect on the importance of protecting our planet and taking action to preserve its natural resources for future generations. At RipRap Security, we recognize the urgent need to address environmental issues and are excited to support environmental causes through our 1% for the Planet membership. Our 1% for the Planet membership is a commitment to accountability, partnership building, and doing better for people and planet.
Via this incredible organization, RipRap Security has pledged to donate 1% of our annual revenue to environmental organizations working to address pressing issues such as climate change, habitat destruction, and pollution. This commitment is a reflection of our belief that businesses have a responsibility to be good stewards of the environment and to support efforts to create a more sustainable future.
So far this year, we are proud to have donated to these incredible organizations:
1% for the Planet - An amazing organization described above.
We Are Neutral - An environmental nonprofit that has 15 years of experience helping businesses and individuals understand, track, reduce, and offset their comprehensive carbon footprints, giving them the opportunity to take responsibility for their environmental impact and achieve carbon neutrality and/or Net Zero.
Raleigh City Farm - A nonprofit urban farm founded in 2011 on a formerly vacant one-acre lot in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. They believe in the power of urban farms to create healthier communities and reconnect city dwellers with healthy food production through more frequent encounters with agriculture.
Oaks & Spokes - An advocacy organization on a mission to make the City of Oaks, the City of Spokes. They believe that people powered places are the future and that a sustainable and equitable transportation model is urgently needed for the community to grow in the best way possible.
In addition to our financial contributions, we are also committed to reducing our environmental footprint by adopting sustainable practices in our operations. This includes initiatives such as reducing energy consumption, using eco-friendly products, and minimizing waste. We’ve taken an additional step in 2023 to measure our 2022 environmental footprint around energy use, water, and waste. We partnered with We Are Neutral for this assessment as well as to fully offset RipRap Security’s environmental footprint. We’re excited to have met this goal that we set out in our 2022 Impact Report and to establish this as a normal part of our yearly commitment to address our environmental footprint.
As we celebrate Earth Day, we are reminded of the urgent need to address environmental challenges and the critical role that businesses can play in driving positive change. At RipRap Security, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting environmental causes and working towards a more sustainable future.
